KED: What does the KED test measure?
The Kidney Health (KED) test measures estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR).
What is eGFR? An Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) screens for waste products (creatinine) in the blood to help evaluate kidney function. Over 90 is good, 60-89 should be monitored, less than 60 for 3 months indicates kidney disease.
What is uACR? A Urine Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (uACR) screens for small amounts of protein (albumin) in urine to help evaluate kidney function. Abnormal levels can be a sign of kidney damage or disease.
