An eligibility file is required to facilitate DirectTrust.
DirectTrust uses Direct Messaging as a technical standard for securely exchanging health information between physicians, hospitals, labs, and other health care providers. It functions just like email but meets the rigid privacy and security measures of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). DirectTrust uses digital certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to encrypt the contents of the message
